When we came to seek advice from James we were first-time buyers who had an offer accepted on a house in April 2014. Earlier in 2014 we had started the application process for a mortgage with Nationwide on another property. The whole application process was really long and very stressful. It was not made clear what was best for us and exactly what documentation was expected from us. Second time round we wanted the help of a mortgage adviser to try and avoid this.

Our favourite thing about James was his straightforward and friendly approach. The other advisers we had met tried to sell themselves to us in a way that undermined their sincerity and we didn’t really feel that comfortable. We also felt that the way James charged for his services was both clear and fair.

In the end there were lots of stressful things about moving: problems with solicitors, dates and the moving day, so it was great that James was able to remove the stress of securing insurance and a mortgage.
